Fundraising

Last year we raised an amazing £19,305 (profit) through various events and activities including our annual Fireworks Display, Christmas Fayre and Summer Fair, Bake Sales and Uniform Sales. We aim to SMASH that this year

We’re back with a bang - the planning for our annual Fireworks Night is well underway, we have a new Reception coffee morning booked to welcome all new parents starting, an adult’s Christmas quiz planned, and we’ll be having our first meetings about the 2024 Christmas Fayre imminently! We will also be holding our AGM later this month where we can update you on plans and fundraising efforts so far, so be sure to join us to hear more about everything PTA and learn how to get involved. As ever, a huge thank you to everyone this year, we couldn’t do it without the support of everyone who gets involved. The more support we have, the more we can do for the children, for you, and of course for the school.

Here are a few ways you can easily get involved in helping the Southborough PTA raise money:

Parentkind - The charity that supports school PTAs - have teamed up with Asda, who is making millions of pounds available to donate to primary schools across the UK through their ‘Cashpot for Schools’ initiative – all you have to do is, opt in through the Asda Rewards app, choose our primary school and shop and scan in store or shop online at Asda.com, between 2nd September and 30th November 2024.

Asda will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to our school. Also, every time somebody opts in, Asda will give an additional £1 to the school Cashpot. Plus, it doesn’t stop there – Asda are also giving £50 to every school to get them started.

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 for parents and carers:

  1. Download the Asda Rewards app and signup

  2. Select your primary school of choice

  3. Shop in-store or online at Asda.com

It’s as easy as that! Asda does the rest! All money raised will be going towards the funding of our new Discovery Hub so sign up now and book in your next shop!

18th October 2024 - 1730 - 1900
Southborough CofE Family Fireworks Night

We are very excited to announce that we will be holding our annual fireworks display at Southborough CoE Primary School on Friday 18th October 2024.

Adult and child ticket prices are the same as last year and we will share the pricing for everything on sale at the event once we have enough volunteers for the night. Please note a ticket must be purchased for everyone attending. The ticket price for under 3's will be free but a ticket must be added for entry to the event. There will be candyfloss, sweets, popcorn, hot chocolate and glow items to purchase on the night, as well as licensed Bar.

For this year's display the fireworks will be low bang, but for children who like the excitement but not the noise level please don't forget your ear defenders as unfortunately we do not have these available to purchase. Whilst they are low bang, they aren't no bang! Like last year, there will be a craft and quieter zone in the hall which will be available to anyone during the evening who finds it all a little too much!

The display itself will take place at 7pm (a little earlier if it starts to rain). Please remember to wear appropriate clothing - warm and suitable for wet weather including wellies as we will be outside on the grass area for the display. Children are the responsibility of the parent/carer and should be supervised at all times throughout the event!

We look forward to seeing you there!
